Luna currently teaches regular classes & workshops at Gallery One in Mitcham & Pepper Street Arts Centre in Magill. The schedule is regularly added to & updated throughout the year. All classes require a minimum of four students to run & because spaces are limited, a 25% deposit is requested to secure your booking. Please email Luna for further details. Classes Evening Mosaic Group Not a formal class but a chance to get together with fellow mosaic addicts on an informal casual basis. Bring your own materials & something to nibble on while we chat, cut, nip & stick. Tools & safety equipment provided. See each workshop for dates. Absolutely Fabulous Beginners For beginners with no prior mosaic experience. Learn all the basic techniques & information for making a mosaic with ceramic tiles. Dates: 29 January – 19 February Cost: $185.00 (All materials included) Introduction to Glass Mosaics – Beginners Making mosaics with glass is different to working with ceramic tiles. Learn specific cutting techniques, tips & tricks to get the best from this lovely material. Dates: 4 – 25 March Cost: $185.00 (All materials included) Upside Down Mosaics – Intermediate Level Learn how to use the indirect or reverse method to create a flat, even surface for a table top or chair seat. Dates: 6 – 27 May Cost: $185.00 (Table or chair base not included) 3-D Pique Assiette – Intermediate Level Broken crockery & china lend themselves really well to three dimensional mosaics.The tesserae tend to be different shapes, sizes & thicknesses, giving character, individuality & quirkiness to the form. This course will show you how to to prepare a 3-D structure to make it suitable for mosaic, how to cut & lay awkward pieces, & how to grout uneven surfaces. Make a substrate from scratch, or bring along a suitable base of your own – email Luna for suggestions. Dates: 3 – 24 June Cost: $185.00 (Base not included) Mixed Media Mosaics - Advanced Level This course is designed to teach more experienced mosaicists how to incorporate a variety of different materials into your mosaics, & to discover & develop your own unique style. Bring your imagination & be prepared to experiment to create something truly original! This workshop will include a power point presentation looking at other artists’ work. Some materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring new, untried materials to supplement the usual range. Dates: 7 – 28 October Cost: $185.00 A Mosaic Chistmas – All Levels For anyone who loves Christmas & loves mosaics! Come along & have a go at making a variety of decorations for your tree, your garden or even your chimney. No experience required, just bring your Christmas spirit & a sense of fun!
