Luna currently teaches regular classes & workshops at Gallery One in Mitcham, Pepper Street Arts Centre in Magill and will soon start teaching classes from her home studio. The schedule is regularly added to & updated throughout the year. Mosaic Your Bird Bath Bird baths are a popular choice for garden mosaic projects. Bring your own bird bath base along and learn about the trickier aspects of mosaicking a three-dimensional object. Tools, equipment and adhesives will be provided. Please bring your own choice of design, along with tiles, glass or pebbles for the mosaic work. NB: the best options for bird baths are unpainted concrete or terracotta. Glazed ceramic is generally not suitable and requires pre-treatment before mosaicking. Cement Sculpture for Mosaics Rather than mosaicking a pre-prepared object for the garden, why not design and make your own? Come and transform your own original idea into a statue or sculpture. Using common objects such as polystyrene, chicken wire, newspaper, cardboard and cement, we will go through the process of creating a sculpture that can be turned into an outdoor mosaic art work. Please bring your lunch and 2 or 3 ideas for your design. Morning and afternoon tea provided. NB: we will not be doing any mosaic work in this class, just making the base. Mixed Media Mosaics - Advanced Level This course is designed to teach more experienced mosaicists how to incorporate a variety of different materials into your mosaics, & to discover & develop your own unique style. Bring your imagination & be prepared to experiment to create something truly original! This workshop will include a power point presentation looking at other artists’ work.
