The Whimsy Art Collection by Amethyst Moon Art features a selection of art works that focus on fun and nonsense.

These mixed media pieces are a celebration of things that I find humourous, wacky, or magical. They are full of references to songs, poems or stories from my childhood and teenage years. Sometimes it is just a simple word or idea that is the inspiration. Sometimes a piece becomes an exploration of a tale or a moral fable.

I have plans to create a series of works based on children’s nursery rhymes. These are often based on adult concepts and like modern cartoons, they contain multiple layers aimed at different levels of understanding. The Whimsy Art Collection is an anthology for the young and for the young at heart.
